Introdution

This user manual intends to explain the usage of the site in a view of student. The graphic style manual will be provided to the user for a better understanding.

This manual is written for those student s who…

  • Wants to experience all the outstanding features in the new e-Portal site.
  • Wants to use the learning resources to your class for your students.
  • Are user unfriendly for using online website.

¡Hola Amigos y Amigas!
I am Camilo Vanegas, and welcome to the site “Colombia Aprende”. In the diagram you saw before, There is a dashboard for the Students, a Dashboard to YOU! We can overview outstanding features and content at once. We will learn how to use the learning content for our classroom , how to follow the new IT trend and catch the news from Ministry of Education and how to use the community for sharing our opinion online.

1. Logging in to ePortal

a. Registration

The registration is very important to experience full features of the Colombia Aprende. Experience the new e-Portal system with register.

  1. Open your favorite web browser and go to the website http://colombiaaprende.edu.co/

  2. Click Register at the top of your browser

  3. Fill every field on the registration form

  4. Click the Create new account button.

    Warning: Don’t forget to fill mandatory field(*)
    Warning: Don’t forget to choose the user role as a Student. Because we are Student!

  5. After filling all the information, the page will redirect you to main page of the website and meanwhile in your e-mail inbox, a welcome e-mail message shall be received.

  6. Click the confirmation link in e-mail, you can move to one-time login page

  8. You can log in the website. You have to change your password in this page and click the save button on the bottom of page

  10. Now you finished complete registration. Welcome to e-Portal! Let’s enjoy this brand new website together!

    If we want to experience all the benefits of the e-Portal site, we must register on the site. After registration, we will get the confirmation email from the system. When we get this e-mail, we must click the confirmation link for account activation.

    Tip

    You can also register your account via social network account such as Facebook and Twitter. You don’t need to click the confirmation by email for this process. But you must input the additional field for the site , since the social network account only provides to the system your name, email address.
    You can skip this step if you already have the account.

b. Login

If you need all features of Colombia Aprende. You should be Login. You can Login on the Login page.

  1. Open your favorite web browser and go to the website http://colombiaaprende.edu.co/

  2. Click Log in at the top of your browser.

  3. Type the User name/Password on the form and click the Sign-in button

  4. You can logged in and page redirect to My account page

    You can find the Login link on the right top of the screen.

c. Edit Your Password

You can change your password on the Your account page.

  1. Choose My account on the user menu.

  2. Click the Edit tab in My account page

    Click Edit tab
  3. Type the Current password and Type the new password and confirm password field correctly.

    Warning: Don’t forget Current password field! Or it won’t be possible for you to change the password

  4. Click the Save button. You can see success message that change password

    You can change your password on “my page”. You can find the link of “my page” on the user menu . You can find the menu between main menu and screen.

    • Main menu is meant Icon buttons in Header.

2. Dashboard for the Students (Sub Main Page for the Students )

  1. Outstanding educational

    It is the slide screen which changes images periodically for the announcement and issues the notification to users.

  2. Content Collection Section

    It announces the main Contents, and can provide the latest information to users in some periodic changes.

  3. Quick Menu Section

    The Quick Menu Section gives Quick Link function to users on the screen such as Explore and Guideline.

  4. Featured Contributor

    This section shows the popular contributors in the portal.

  5. Activity for Community Section

    Contents from the Community section can be divided into Recent, Popular and Featured.

  6. Agenda in Use of ICT Section

    In order to give users information with one-click, Colombia Aprende shows News, Events, Scholarships, Contests and Convocations in the Main Page.

  7. Poll Section

    IUsers can participate in the contents of the Poll that the administrator made.

  8. Bank of Home Student Work Section

    Bank of home Student Work Section shows the Recent Homework data for student.

  9. Experience in Use of ICT Section

    The Main Page shows the latest contents from ICT Experience. Each content can be registered by the person in charge.

  10. School Informative Service

    School Informative Service provides service for detailed searching such as faculty, department. When choosing a content after the searching, the page moves to Colegio searching web site, and users can get the information they need.

  11. Career & Academic Program Link

    When users click Seeking Career, the page moves to the link site MOE provides(SNIES)

    Tip

    After login you will be redirected to the dashboard for student such as you.
    We can see the news and events that were made for us on the dashboard. There are banners we can enjoy to use!

3. Aperitum Translation Service

This is where the various users of ICT experience. You will experience a variety of ICT in here.

4. How to Share the Experience ICT

a. Explore the Experiences ICT

This is where the various users of ICT experience. You will experience a variety of ICT in here.

  1. Click the title of Experience ICT block on the dashboard for the Students.

    There are two options for exploring the experience ICT, First On the dashboard of Teacher we can found the experience.
    Second, There is Experience ICT Menu link in The Main Menu region on the top of the screen.

  2. You can explore Experience ICT contents, in this section you can see what other people, like you, have been experiencing in ICT

    This is the Bank of Home Student Work. We can get a variety of information needed by the subjects to the homework here. And haejumyeon materials needed to create a good homework, you know where other friends are going to be easier to solve than the homework with your data!

Enter the keyword you want to search by date and only after you click the Filter button, I can see just the information you want. And you're also create your own Study Group. So let's find some friends to study together?

b. Create What, How and Where to Study

  1. Click the Create Network button on the bottom of Social network page.

c. Edit What, How and Where to Study

You can do the What, How and Whereto Study Content you have created Edit or Delete.

  1. Click the Edit button on the top of your Content

  2. If you want to delete the your content. Click the Delete button on the bottom of Edit page.

    • If you need to modify this, first modify the desired information. Input information, please refer to the Create Bank of Home Student Work.
  3. Click the Delete button This action can not be undone. The Delete / Cancel button appears with the message

  4. Press the Delete button again to delete the posts shown.

    Warning: The message “” will be appeared if you click the delete button. It reminds you “you try to delete something!”. Thnk again before click YES.

  5. You need to modify this, first modify the desired information. Input information, please refer to the Create Bank of Home Student Work.

  6. Click the Save button to save the information you entered.

    Is there anything wrong data from one data store? Do not worry, you can always modify / delete the data registered by yourself. How to modify the input method and the same. Revised the information you want to modify, and then press the Save button Ask a lot of material do not worry gets completed. And please delete after you delete data well thought we would not turn back.

7. Get Involved into Community, Extending Your Social Life : Community

a. Get Involved to The Social Network

Social Network provides a space where you can share information between users.

  1. Click the Community menu link in The Main Menu region on the top of the screen.

  2. Click the Social network menu link in The left menu region. You can choose social network.

  4. Type the request message and click the Join button.

    Do you feel alone? You can communicate with friends who has similar thought as well as me. We can browse the Social networks in Colombia. Let’s join to the Social Network.

    Tip

    If you want get out of the social network, you can do it by clicking the link on the page of social network. Don’t worry for getting off.

b. Create Your Own Social Network

Creating a New Social Network is very simple. Try to create a Social network directly communicate with the user.

  1. Click the Create Network button on the bottom of Social network page.

    Do you want create your own social network? You instantly create the new group. Let’s go to make.

    Warning: Webmaster regularly supervision every content and social networks, If they found some violence behavior or illegal actions, they can remove the social network without notification. Hence you need to check your people and content in your group regularly. Be careful You must login for see the user menu and enjoy our site!.

c. Create Blog Content for your Social Network

d. Share Your Knowledge with Wiki for your Social Network

You can share your knowledge in Wiki. Please share your useful knowledges.

  1. Click the Add content button on the bottom of Blogs page.

  2. Fill out fileds on the form, you must fill the mandatory filed on the form.

    Wiki our knowledge! Your friend may participates to update your knowledge. You can make the knowledge together.

e. Discuss together with Forum Topic for your Social Network

You can argue with your friend about the topics on Forum.

  1. Click the Add new Forum topic link on the Forum page.
